Outdoor Unit Menu / 13.4 - Quiet Mode
Quiet mode is available only for PID / FF type control, for which MiniHPC is able to adjust the outdoor unit fan speed. When quiet mode is enabled, MiniHPC automatically adjusts the fan speed based on the compressor frequency as well as the outdoor temperature. At low frequencies and low output, this makes it possible to significantly reduce the noise of the outdoor unit.
- Compressor frequency below which the fan will run at .
- Compressor frequency above which the fan will run at maximum speed.
Within the range between the minimum and maximum frequency, the fan speed changes linearly according to the current compressor frequency.
defines the minimum fan speed at and below the .
When the outdoor temperature is lower than the set value, this speed is added to the calculated fan speed. At low outdoor temperatures, there is a higher risk of icing of the outdoor unit heat exchanger; therefore, increasing the fan speed helps improve efficiency.
When the frequency changes, the fan speed does not change immediately. The program checks the current conditions for speed adjustment and updates the fan speed every 2 minutes.
